Sid_Heuton_imageSid Heuton has spent 40 plus years in the insurance industry. He has obtained the professional designations of CPCU [Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter], CIC [Certified Insurance Counselor], AAM [Associate in Automation Management], PIAM [Professional in Insurance Account Management] and CPIM [Certified Professional Insurance Man].

Mr. Heuton started his insurance career in 1971 in the Midwest with Continental Insurance Company. He spent his first year in a very comprehensive training program, both in the class room and hands on experience in various departments. After graduating from the training class, Mr. Heuton accepted a position as a State Agent covering portions of Nebraska and Iowa.

In 1973, Mr. Heuton moved to Florida and was a Field Representative for Reserve Insurance, a niche carrier. Reserve wrote Auto, Homeowner, Mobile Home, GL, SMP, and specialty packages for various markets. His territory consisted of 600 plus Independent Insurance agents on the West coast of Florida.

Mr. Heuton then moved into the premium finance arena with INAC, a subsidiary of INA in 1980. He was then recruited by Agency Premium Services to manage their Atlanta branch and assist in setting up a Tampa location. Mr. Heuton managed 45 associates in both branches, he was responsible for hiring, defining corporate policy, maintaining and building relationships with insurance carriers and production for 4 states.

In 1989, Mr. Heuton began a 12 year association with Omni Insurance Company. The Hartford then purchased Omni and Mr. Heuton was promoted to Regional Sales Manager for the Hartford for the Southeast.

Mr. Heuton was recruited by Bankers Insurance Company in 2001, he was named Assistant Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He managed 9 marketing representatives and 7 states for all lines.

Mr. Heuton’s tenure as an Agency Sales Manager for AIG personal lines division started in 2002. Mr. Heuton assisted in directing the changes by working with Product Management, Underwriting, Claims and IT.

In 2005, Mr. Heuton helped create Crosslet Insurance Services, Inc in Clearwater, Florida. Mr. Heuton was President of Crosslet Insurance Services, Inc. Crosslet helps entrepreneurial agents who want to own their own agency, accomplish that goal. Mr. Heuton was also a partner in an Independent Insurance Agency on the west coast of Florida.

In 2011, Mr. Heuton started Marketing Directions, LLC to help agents fill needed gaps in their agencies. His products include an agency management system, help obtaining carriers, training on how to navigate Google searches, a water prevention system-just to name a few of the companies he helps promote.

Mr. Heuton was educated at Luther College, earning a major in Business Administration with a minor in Psychology. He continued his education by successfully earning major insurance designations, while also taking courses in negotiations, motivation and sales training. Mr. Heuton has his Florida 220 agent’s license and an E&S license. He has been an active participant with FAIA, PIA and NAIW throughout his career.
